What it treats

The everyday injuries and the ones that change your plans

Physical therapy is the foundation of everything we do. Most people walk in with something specific: a back that seized up lifting feed, a knee that swells after a run, a shoulder that will not let them sleep on that side. Some come in after a surgery with a protocol from their surgeon. Others just know they are moving worse than they did a year ago and want it fixed before it gets worse.

Whatever brought you in, we start the same way. A real evaluation, one on one with a licensed physical therapist, that looks at how you move as a whole, not just the spot that hurts. Pain in the knee often starts in the hip. A sore shoulder is often a stiff upper back doing a bad job. We find the cause, then we treat it.

Who it's for

Built for the people who live and work around here

Working adults

Ranch work, the trades, nursing, teaching, long days on your feet or behind a wheel. We get you back to work safely and show you how to keep the injury from coming back.

Athletes of every age

Medina Valley student athletes, weekend leagues, runners, lifters. When you are pain free, the plan continues on our training floor so you go back ready, not just cleared.

Parents and grandparents

Arthritis, balance, a hip or knee replacement, or simply wanting to keep up with the grandkids. Steady, patient care with a therapist who knows your name.

What a session looks like

From your first visit to your last

The evaluation

About an hour, one on one. We go through your history, watch how you move, test strength and range of motion, and tell you plainly what we are seeing and how long recovery should take.

Hands on treatment

Manual therapy to restore motion and calm pain, then targeted strengthening in our rehab gym. Every visit is with the same therapist, so nothing gets lost between appointments.

Back to life

A home program you will actually do, a clear finish line, and the option to keep training here for $10 a visit through the Supervised Exercise Program once you are discharged.

Why Castroville instead of the city

You could drive 30 miles into San Antonio for physical therapy. Here is what you get by staying on Highway 90.

  • A 5,000 square foot facility with a full rehab floor and conditioning equipment
  • Athletic trainers on the same team
  • The original independent clinic in town, not a chain that moved in
  • A therapist who is likely to see you at the grocery store, and treats you that way

Physical therapy questions

Do I need a referral to start physical therapy in Texas?

Often, no. Texas allows you to see a physical therapist without a physician referral for an initial period, though some insurance plans still require one for coverage. Call us at (830) 538-3344 and we will check what your plan needs before you come in.

How long does a physical therapy session take?

Your first visit runs about an hour so we can do a full evaluation. Follow up sessions are usually 45 minutes to an hour, and the whole time is with your therapist, not a rotating cast.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on what we find. A simple strain might be a handful of visits. Recovery after surgery can take a few months. You will leave your evaluation with a realistic plan and a timeline, and we adjust it as you progress.

What if my insurance benefits run out before I am done?

You can keep training in our facility through the Supervised Exercise Program for $10 a visit. Our team supervises, you keep your progress, and nobody gets cut off halfway through recovery.

Do you treat kids and older adults?

Yes. We see student athletes, working adults, and retirees every day. The plan is built around the person, whether the goal is a state playoff or getting up from a chair without pain.

Ready to stop working around the pain?

Tell us what is going on. We will get you evaluated quickly and build a plan that fits your life.
